Darren is an experienced business executive and former sports administrator. He has extensive commercial experience internationally and here in Australia having worked in the clean energy sector specifically in the waste heat to power systems sector.
He was the Chief Executive Officer of the Western Australian Swimming Association Inc. (SWA) based in Perth, Western Australia where he transformed swimming in Western Australia. During his tenure he doubled membership, revenue and established a strong learn to swim business which aimed to reduce the reliance of the Association on traditional funding models into the future.
Prior to May 2014, Darren served as Chief Executive Officer of the United States of America Cricket Association (USACA) based in Florida where he worked in collaboration with the International Cricket Council (ICC) to establish cricket in that market. He was the Chief Operating Officer for the ISAF World Sailing Championships in Perth (Olympic Qualifier for London 2012) working closely with the International Sailing federation (ISAF), the London Organising Committee (LOCOG) and the Australian Olympic Council (AOC) and headed up the commercial division of the Fremantle Dockers in the Australian Football League (AFL).
Darren possesses 4 degrees with his most recent being a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Graduate Diploma of Business. He is a member of the Association of Chief Executives for Sports (USA), Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and is an Associate Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute.
